The Stakeholders and government officials met at Paradise Suites Hotel to launch CountrySTAT Gambia on the 8th July, 2013. The Secretariat of the CountrySTAT presented and demonstrated on the domain and menu of the web page and uploading the information into the website.
The seminar on the management of information and knowledge exchange in agriculture in West Africa initiated by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has organized a seminar on information management and dissemination from Wednesday to Friday, 2013 at Ghana Volta Hotel in Akosombo. This meeting brought together the following countries Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo aims of the seminar is to equip participants with current trends and best practices in the field of information management and knowledge exchange in agriculture including guidelines and recommendation by FAO and its partners.
The Planning Services held the Agricultural Census 2011/2012 Validation Workshop at Atlantic Hotel in Banjul on 4 October 2012. This was the 2nd agricultural census review conducted by the Planning Services, the first one was done in 2002 for the Agricultural Census 2001/2002.
Six (6) Supervisors and 4 enumerators attended the Rural Finance Impact Assessment Survey workshop organized by the Planning Services at Jenoi, Lower River Region on the 15th June 2012. The workshop was facilitated by the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA).
The Planning Services held a two days training on National Agricultural Sample Survey (NASS) 2012/2013 at Jenoi from the 18th to 19th July 2012. 60 field supervisors and enumerators participated on data collection training.
